You know when you get approached with a perfect idea, and it just almost seems too good to be true? Amanda messaged me and told me she had this retro vibe shoot that she was trying to accomplish, and we were trying to see if it could fit into the portrait series project that I was doing….. as we know, any type of shoot can fit in with this project, and so the answer was a resounding “yes!”.
Immediately we got to planning, and figuring out what we wanted included in this shoot to really tie all the elements together. The wardrobe was first on the list, we wanted a cute little dress, with the black and white polka dots, very Betty Boop diner vibes (ya know?).
Then we had to think about hair and makeup because we all know how they had the bouncy, wavy and styled hair, and the bold lipstick and eyeliner look. I mean these people were true artists of their time being able to achieve looks like that so effortlessly. So after sigting through many artists that reached out, we found Irvin who hands down, delivered such an impressive look, ALL WHILE BEING PREGNANT at the same time!
Stay with me, cause there is 1 more element that really tied this shoot together, and that was the GORGEOUS bright red 1967 Dodge Dart convertible car, that was so generously donated for this shoot by a lovely local named Dave. I honestly could not have seen this shoot moving forward without this car, it was the final piece of the puzzle that we needed to make this shoot happen. So thank you Dave, your contribution was truly appreciated!
And with that, lets take a look at some of these images!
